Alison Raleigh, founder of AB Assessments is a dedicated professional in the field of psychology and psychometry. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Criminology through the University of South Africa (UNISA) in 2010. Building on this foundation, she earned her Honours in Psychology from the same institution in 2012, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to the field.

Practical Training and Early Experience

While pursuing her postgraduate studies, Alison volunteered at a specialist brain injury centre, where she provided support in therapeutic group settings and facilitated structured activities to aid recovery and self-expression. This hands-on exposure inspired her to deepen her skills in psychological assessments. She enrolled in the University of Johannesburg’s Practical Psychometry Honours programme, completing it in 2013.

As part of her qualification, Alison undertook an internship at PsyCaD (Centre for Psychological Services and Career Development), where she gained in-depth experience with a variety of assessment methods, both local and international. Her work during this time included assessments for academic support, exam accommodations, subject choice guidance, and career exploration.

Alison is a registered Psychometrist (Independent Practice) under the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), ensuring that her services meet strict professional standards.

Advanced Reading and Spelling Intervention

In 2016, Alison became an Advanced Certified Phono-Graphix™ Reading Therapist after completing a certification course and internship through Read For Africa. Further expanding her capabilities, Alison completed the Helios STREPCO course in counselling and therapeutic intervention. She is registered with the Council for Counsellors of South Africa (CCSA).
