FACILITIES

Our Beautiful Garden

Whether you are a nature lover, avid book reader or casual sport enthusiast, Korongo Valley will surely suit your pleasure. Our beautiful garden and large lawns are the result of many years hard work. We hacked out overgrown bush from the abandoned farm and took advantage of some wonderful old trees and indigenous plants to create a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the sounds and sightings of over 150 bird species including our namesake, the magnificent Crested Crane (Korongo in the Swahili language). Frequent four legged visitors include duiker, reed buck, the elusive jackal, bush pig and porcupine! Every now and then a troop of monkeys will sneak in to see what we´re up to. That is a garden to be proud of, right

Take a hike!

What we mean is Go for a walk. We have a few trails worth strolling along. Gather your thoughts among the chirping birds and rustling tree leaves. Watch the horses chase each other around the field. Take a rest beside the pond. If you´re not one for the slow lane then we have had some guests choose to jog instead and you are welcome to bring your bicycle over too.

Take a dip

The pool is open from dawn until dusk. Take an invigorating swim to wake up in the morning, refresh yourself from the heat of the day and relax with a beer in hand at sunset. You might have to usher the ducks out first on some days but humans do have right of way in this watering hole. Please supervise children. Lifeguards are not available.

Child´s Play

In case the the kids tire of the swimming pool or get bored of running in circles around the levelled lawn, we have installed swings and a climbing frame.

Dam side better here

Sit in natures silence by the dam with a bird book or take advantage of our brick braai place. It is only a minute walk from our bar too!

The Crane & Assegai Pub

Our little pub is popular with our friendly regulars from neighbouring farms and Ixopo town. Needless to say, there have been some fantastic anecdotes and tall tales spilled over a few tongue lubricating beverages here. Richard manages this area and is never short of a story or a witty comment. He´ll make sure the conversation never dries up before the bottom of your glass does.

Feathers Bistro

I am quite certain that the last thing you want to do is cook while you are taking a break here with us. We offer a mouthwatering pub and grill menu with a variety of meals. Meals are served in our Pub, on the deck or the dining room located in the main building. We pride ourselves for serving freshly prepared dishes using the best of local ingredients available, some of which are home grown in our very own vegetable garden. We are happy to cater for all your dietary requirements and prior to check in, we ask that you do let us know if you need anything special. Breakfast is not included in the room rate but is available on request. For those who are traveling or working during your stay, try our healthy packed lunch and breakfast options - these need to be ordered the day before you need them please.

Kick back and relax

If there are any special requests you have, just ask and we will do our best to improve your stay. We hope that our facilities will help you to have a thoroughly enjoyable stay with us in Korongo Valley.
