Serenity Retreat is a safe haven for cost conscious Travellers.Serenity is not Freedom from the Storm but peace within the Storms and here there is enough space and privacy to retreat, relax and restore your soul; to contemplate nature and life, breathe the pure air and gaze at unpolluted skies. Marvel at the forces of nature so evident in the Tsitsikamma as you walk beneath huge multi-hued skies, savouring the sights and sounds of the indigenous forests, the fynbos and Indian ocean @ the nearby Storms River Mouth (Tsitsikamma National Park) – the home of the world famous Otter Trail.

This small (sleeps max 15 people) owner run establishment is fully fenced and parking is secure.Serenity is ideal for self-drive guests – couples, families, hikers and small groups.

Serenity offers safe Surroundings in the heart of the Tsitsikamma – an ideal base from which to explore the many aspects of this magnificent area. No alcohol is sold on the premises.

OUR GUEST ACCOMMODATION

Our options are affordable and stylishly simple, clean and comfy, spacious and secure. Whilst we don’t go in for costly fancy frills – home comforts, care and attention are assured – abundant hot water (Eskom permitting), heaters in all rooms, comfy beds, fresh linen and space and privacy to unwind and relax.

Whilst all our accommodation is fully equipped for Self Catering we are able to offer catering options for groups by prior arrangement. Continental Breakfasts can be provided (muesli, milk, yoghurt, fruit, tea/coffee) on request/pre-booking.

SERENITY HOUSE

Is our exclusive use Self Catering house – the décor and colour schemes of the rooms reflect elements of nature. An ideal venue for families, groups of friends and a gathering place for small Teambuilding/Retreat groups. Oodles of space – homely and comfortable - the house easily sleeps up to 9 people (10 at a push!) and has 3.5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a fully equipped open plan kitchen/dining and lounge area with DSTV & DVD player.

There is a covered stoep with braai.

2 interleading rooms form the family suite (queen size bed in one room and double bunk and single bed in other) and full en-suite bathroom. A further two private bedrooms each with twin beds/double bunk share a separate shower and toilet.

THE 2 RONDAVELS

The 2 Rustic Brick and Thatch Rondavels sit next to each other in the garden and have views of the Tsitsikamma Mountains and Fynbos. Full of character, warm and welcoming , they are our Beat the Budget option - ideal for the independent cost conscious traveller on a budget break who wants comfort, warmth, space and privacy.

Both have en-suite shower and toilet and share a separate fully equipped communal kitchen, dining and small sitting room (DVD player) – housed in a cabin just behind the rondavels. The kitchen cabin also has a stoep and portable braai for guest use.

DRIFTWOOD RONDAVEL

Is the larger one and can sleep 2 adults and a small child. It is a spacious and relaxing room with cool and calming blue and white décor and houses a comfy double bed and an additional small single day-bed. There is a seating area and en-suite shower and toilet – all in one room; the extra space in this rondavel makes it a more comfortable option for our longer stay or more mature guests.

DRIFTSAND RONDAVEL

Is compact, bright and cozy with a warm and welcoming orange/yellow African theme. There are twin beds which can be connected to make up a king size bed and en-suite shower and toilet – all in same room. Driftsand is our Basic Beat the Budget option and is an ideal overnight or breakaway spot for couples, friends or the single traveller.
