The Children’s Art Centre

Learners gain knowledge and experience by exploring a wide variety of media and techniques and developing skills on a weekly basis from Grade R to Grade 7.

Class sizes are limited to 25 learners and individual progress assessments are reflected in quarterly school reports according to the requirements of the Western Cape Education Department.

Our weekly classes are compulsory for all six of the Primary Schools within walking distance of our Art Centre.The 6 schools are as follows:

* Chapel Street Primary
* Holy Cross Primary
* Rahmaniyeh Primary
* Walmer Primary
* Zonnebloem Girl’s Primary
* Zonnebloem Boy’s PrimaryIn the interest of accessibility our annual school fees are R30.00, amounting to R7.50 per term per child or 75 cents per lesson, inclusive of all materials.

Our programmes include, but are not limited to:

* Drawing
* Painting
* Ceramics
* Sculpture
* Textile Design

We also work hand in hand with our partner schools to incorporate and accommodate special requests, workshops and projects such as:

* Stage props and costumes for performances
* Special exhibitions
* MuralsWe are currently investigating the implementation of a high school programme which caters for Grade 8 to 12 learners at our local high schools.
